Proiecte – 2026 - Timisoara Jazz Festival

Built around contemporary jazz, the programme brings together projects that explore the relationship between music, cultural heritage, research, cultural mediation and education.

Each project begins with its own curatorial concept, creating a distinct context in which artists, audiences and places come together.

Bloom, Secession × Heritage of Timișoara, Midsummer, City Celebration, Equinox and Timișoara Jazz Festival form a programme unfolding from spring to autumn. Together, they express a shared vision: a platform dedicated to contemporary jazz, where concerts coexist with research, heritage, interdisciplinary collaboration and the support of emerging musicians. Taken together, these projects define the identity of Timișoara Jazz Festival from 2026 onward and mark the beginning of a new stage in its evolution.

The year 2026 marks the beginning of a new chapter for Timișoara Jazz Festival. After twenty years as an annual event, the festival expands into a year-round curatorial platform.

A dialogue between Romanian artists and international guests, opening the annual programme through unique collaborations and artistic encounters created especially for Timișoara Jazz Festival.

Contemporary jazz meets architectural heritage and the urban landscape, transforming the city into an integral part of the concert experience.

Education and knowledge exchange bring together artists, students and young musicians through workshops and learning experiences centred on contemporary jazz.

Contemporary jazz reactivates cultural heritage through concerts presented in historic buildings that hold a special significance for the Jazz Banat Cultural Foundation.

Research and the memory of Timișoara's jazz scene come together through projects dedicated to archives, cultural heritage and the stories that have shaped the city's musical identity.

The highlight of the extensive program curated by the Timișoara Jazz Festival this year takes place between September 25 and 27, when the festival returns to the format the audience has known since 2006.
