The Jazz Banat Cultural Foundation is an independent cultural organisation dedicated to the development and promotion of contemporary jazz in Romania. Through festivals, concerts, educational programmes and research initiatives, we create spaces where music becomes a catalyst for dialogue, discovery and meaningful encounters.
Today, the Foundation is the organiser of three of Romania's leading jazz projects: Gărâna Jazz Festival, Timișoara Jazz Festival and ORA Jazz Festival.
Each has its own identity and audience, yet all share the same vision: presenting contemporary jazz in meaningful contexts while fostering a strong connection with the communities and places that host them.
At the heart of these projects is a family brought together by a lifelong passion for jazz. For nearly three decades, the Giura family has helped shape one of Romania's most enduring jazz stories. Today, that commitment continues through a new generation, working alongside an extended team of professionals, artists, technicians, volunteers and partners who share the same values.
We believe in collaboration, artistic independence and the power of culture to build communities. Beyond organising festivals,
we develop projects focused on education, research, cultural heritage and new ways of connecting artists and audiences.
Above all, the Jazz Banat Cultural Foundation is about people who believe that jazz is more than a musical genre, it is a way of creating dialogue, encouraging artistic freedom and shaping cultural experiences that resonate long after the final concert.
