ALAWARI is one of the Danish groups exploring the space between contemporary jazz and rock, while leaving considerable room for improvisation. Their music is dense and cinematic, built around contrasts and shifts in rhythm, with a constant tension between composition and the freedom to take it somewhere unexpected.
Fondată în 2016 la CopenhagaFounded in Copenhagen in 2016, ALAWARI brings together musicians rooted in the Scandinavian jazz scene, with experience in experimental and contemporary music as well. The group has built its reputation through intense live performances, where the structures of the compositions become starting points for interaction and exploration.
After several recording projects that have shaped the band’s identity, ALAWARI continues to develop its own musical language, bringing Nordic jazz closer to orchestral textures and progressive rock. Improvisation remains essential to this process, while their music retains something of jazz’s spirit and continues to look for new forms of expression.
